Happy Birthday, Nathaniel!

Happy Birthday, to my dearest Nathaniel!
William was due on Nathaniel's birthday, and even though he arrived 3 days early, he very much steals the spotlight from his daddy. Maybe next year we'll have a pirate party for Nathaniel, and go to McDonald's for William's bday (opposite of what we've done this year). Here are some photo highlights of Nathaniel's adventures. Some, I've posted before, but they're still classics worth looking at again! What a sweet baby!
Take note friends: this might be the only time we see Nathaniel with a 'belly'.
This is exactly how I picture Nathaniel as a kid. A total monkey, just like his son.

You see. He's always had his sense of style. Look at that nice shirt tucked in!
Whenever William runs, he looks JUST like this. Big eyes and a very focused mouth.
Back in the days when Nathaniel had little muscles... not too long before he had THESE muscles:

Nathaniel, my honey. I love you so much! Happy birthday! Thanks for letting ME sleep in on YOUR birthday. What a good man. I'm grateful that we're sealed forever! KOTM.

Pirate Party

Today we celebrated William's birthday with all of his little friends! Having a houseful of 2-year-olds made me happier than ever that I'm not the octomom! ;) One at a time is plenty for this Momma. Thanks to all the friends who came to share the day with us!

The Pirate Captain, himself.

Party Invitation. I think I spent more work on this invitation than on the party itself. What can I say? I'm crafty, but not a party planner... then again, they're 2. As far as they're concerned, it was a hit!

Again, I'm crafty, but a poor time manager. I opted to put on mascara rather than give this pirate cake a face. Amber brilliantly suggested that I use confetti! At least the cake was tasty, if faceless.

At long last! A picture of me on the blog.

Friends: Beautiful Addy

Friends: William's fellow train-loving buddy Erich

Birthday boy! With ice cream on his face.

Cameron! What a big boy sitting up. His 2nd cousin Ramsey was at the party too. I didn't get a picture of her today- but here is a picture of her from October. They could pass as siblings with their matching eyes!

I'm bummed that I didn't get more pictures of all the little ones at the party, but that's just how it goes, I guess. Next year, right? ;)

Two!

Holy Smokes! Today, my not-so-little William is TWO! I can't believe how fast time has gone. I love him being older. The baby days are cute and sweet, but I sure love him being bigger, more interactive, and just such a big boy!
He's such a joy in our lives... Even if it's almost as though he woke up this morning and somehow just KNEW that he was two and is supposed to be especially more difficult and even as he jumps in his crib right now screaming "babEEEEE" instead of napping, I adore him and simply wouldn't have him any other way. Happy Birthday, my big boy!

We may be biased, but...

We think we have the most beautiful boys!

William

William's second birthday is fast approaching! It's incredible when I think of it, but then again, every day he becomes more and more 'boy' and far less 'baby'. One of his latest passions are pirates. One of the backyardigan songs sings "a pirate, a pirate, a pirate says 'arrgh'". William now says the following everytime he sees a pirate or the jolly roger (a pirate flag, for all you non-pirate lingo following folks):

A couple weeks ago we had a great snow storm! Here is what William thought of it all:

Okay.. to be more honest, he was really just mad at me for not giving him the camera. Though he really wasn't all that interested in the snow either! He's started pinching together his fingers when he wants something and words aren't doing the trick.

William and Cameron have just in this last week started interacting more. We love it! William has started to help when he thinks Cameron needs a toy. In this clip when William hides behind the curtain you can hear how he says his name :"yi yam". He'll always say it when he's hiding and he wants us to come find him. Such a fun boy!

Brotherly Love

I can't believe that our little Cameron is 6 months old today! He has been trying very hard to sit up and plays with any toy that William gives him. He is not much a fan of tummy time and will roll over as soon as he can (sometimes takes a while) to get off his tummy and onto his back. It's fun to watch them become so aware of their environment at this age! William is quite good with Cameron and gives him endless 'bisous', unless he's in one of those "stay away from MY mommy" phases which is usually just after waking up from a nap.
For fun- here are some pictures of the boys at matching ages:
