Mainz Christmas Market : Nov 22

We LOVE Christmas market time, over here (even yesterday, Andrew was asking to go to one again). This time we went with some good friends who were about to fly out of Germany. Sad day, but we'll see them again soon!

E was such a good sport to go on the rides with my boys!

:) He's so cute.

I walked past the cathedral without much of even a passing glance, and then wanted to hit myself. I'm so used to these beautiful buildings that I've begun to take them for granted. I will miss their beauty SO much when we go home, though!

The little train ride had a fascinating variety of characters to liven it up...

 Carousel!

Germany is generally not a very religious country-- but there are crosses, virgin Mary statues, other little christian saints all over the place, and a nativity scene at every Christmas market.

Nina & Andrew

A "fun" screaming game. It's most fun if it annoys one of the brothers. In this case, Cameron was taking the bait and freaking out.

Ketchup Udder! Looks ridiculous, but it's incredibly functional. :)

William "Young Author" : Nov 30

William had a busy week at school this week! First was his popcorn parade, and then he had a "young author" celebration... a public reading of his first book! It was darling- I'm so grateful for his amazing teachers for planning all these special events. :)

William's book:

 My Nice Room.
Illustration shows his bedroom windows, toy roller coaster, and the big chair we have in there.

"I like my starwars [transformer] the best."

"This transformer is awesome."

"My dad is in my room."
Illustration is his and Cameron's bunkbed, their star turtle, and Daddy sitting in the chair. :)
"I have so many toys in my room."

William tells me he's written a couple other books at school.. I can't wait to see them!

Cookies! : Nov 29

To kick off the Christmas season, a friend came over with her two sweet girls to make cookies. It was a fascinating cultural experience! ;) My friend brought what looked like a sugar cookie dough, but she rolled it much thinner than I would have thought for sugar cookies... and then before baking, they put on egg yolk and decorate with sprinkles! When they were out of the oven, they turned out to be butter cookies, not sugar cookies. They were extremely tasty though!

Andrew preferred just to eat the sprinkles.

Little chefs at work!

Popcorn Parade : Nov 27

This week William had two events at school. The first was a popcorn parade. It was so darling! William was upset that he was a chef instead of a kernel, but that's the way William is... haha! I thought it was precious as a chef!

Love my boy!

Thanksgiving!

This year we had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving with our friends the Narulas!

Tina with her beautiful table and feast! I've never had such tasty turkey!
